Mr. PD Dr. Karl Rohr
Karl Rohr is head of the Biomedical Computer Vision group and Associate Professor at the University of Heidelberg and the DKFZ. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT) and received his PhD as well as his Habilitation degrees in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg. His research field is biomedical image analysis with focus on automated analysis of high-throughput screens and live cell microscopy images. He and his group have developed a wide spectrum of novel image analysis methods which have been successfully used in different applications. This comprises methods for cell segmentation, cell tracking, particle tracking, image registration, vessel segmentation, and landmark localization.
